We are building our UX designer team right now, so this is a high impact opportunity. If you’re a talented UX designer interested in solving real-world problems and building an amazing business, we may be the perfect place for you to come and do the best work of your life.

What you'll do:

Developing the Product and Customer Experience:
- We are developing an Uber + Yelp equivalent for the Global Container Logistics community. You will have to understand this complex industry, user experience flows for multiple stakeholders and helps us in building tools that will enable businesses of all sizes in seamless trading across borders (it should almost be like logistics is magically happening for them!)
- Define the user experience flows, the information architecture and design language of the product (across multiple form factors), on top of which simple, intuitive and highly efficient interfaces to automate the repetitive parts of logistics will be built
- Be responsible for all stages of design right from user research to prototyping to documentation and product release related deliverables
- Articulate decisions with research data, design principles or other objective information
- Wireframe the core solution and build rough mockups prototypes in quick cycles. (you guessed it right the ability to pencil your ideas into sketches is a must have!)
- Build a loop to gather feedback from both the team and the users
- As you would own the customer experience part of the product coming up with extended features and enhancements will be your cup of tea
- Given that you will be joining Logistixian on the ground floor you will be wearing multiple hats. We do not expect you to be a design unicorn who can do everything but at times you should be ready to help the team on multiple fronts like graphic design, building high fidelity visual flows for customers ...

Find the 80/20:
- You're in a meeting where someone wants to build a new feature. And in their mind, they've got it all spec'ed out. It slices, it dices and probably washes your car too. In your mind, they're racking up costs and complexity(one month for that part, two months for that other part, uh oh). On a bad day, you’d just give them the sobering news. But a good day looked like this. Once you understood what the objective of their feature was for customers, you could sometimes see a way to get 80% of the benefit for 20% of the cost.

Provide options:
- Never say "that's impossible" or “we can never do that." Instead, you find options and can communicate them to everyone in the company.

Grow UX design leaders:
- Build and manage a team of user experience and interaction designers
- Making the whole greater than the sum of its parts

We are applying technology and problem solving to the logistics industry like it has not been done before. The risk is absolutely encouraged.

What you'll need:
- Demonstrated experience in designing responsive and human context oriented products across multiple form factors (though # of years are not very relevant we expect your portfolio to signal maturity like someone with 3+ years of experiences)
- Bachelors / Masters Degree in Digital Interaction Design, Graphic Design or related fields
- Excellent visualization capabilities, designing aptitude and communication skills - you should be able to easily explain your ideas to a layman
-Ideally, you know a bit of code( HTML5, CSS3, Jquery, Ajax, Ruby on Rails, ReactJS) most of the Adobe Creative Suite applications (Illustrator, Photoshop etc.) and Prototyping tools (InDesign, Fireworks, JustinMind etc.). Two of the three are essential
- You estimate work, commit and deliver on deadlines and are vocal when risk arises.
- You have a design aesthetic. Your documents are simple, informative and filled with value. There is an attention to detail that borders on neurotic
- You put pen to paper before you pick up a mouse
- Curiosity that drives you to look at the world as a solution instead of just existing patterns and mental models
- Understanding of design research, user experience design processes and methodology, its value and how to integrate into work
- Experience in working with a cross-functional product development team would be a plus

What you'll get :
- The opportunity to define the culture of a small team
- Founding level equity
- Product ownership - take autonomy over core products & product features
- Design software to help manage and automate the complexity of a multi-trillion dollar industry - "global trade"

What you are:
- Calm under pressure, have a great work ethic and communicate well
- Self-aware and always pushing for a higher standard. Always proactive, open to new ideas and feedback (that last part is very important as we work on rapid agile cycles so being able to process feedback is critical)
- Antifragile: with every failure, you become stronger and better.
- Detail oriented and absolutely intolerant to compromise or sub-optimal shortcuts
- Problem solver with a global mindset
